The difference between a successful person and a human that never seems to get a break can be broken down into numerous different aspects of their lives. One main part of the equation is having a positive attitude. This is a simple state of mind that we can all achieve through dedication and consistent work.
Every day you run into two different types of people. The ones that are happy and full of energy. The ones that everyone wants to be around. The others are the people that find the bad in every situation and in all people. The ones that people avoid and would rather make excuses to prevent themselves from having to work or hang out with.

Start the day with positive thoughts. Get out of bed and know that you are going to have a good day. A productive day. A day full of positive events and good intentions.
Focus on all the good things that happen, no matter how small they may appear. Throughout the day call out all the positive things. Train your mind to see the good that happens around you.
When you do see the negative things around you, flip it into something positive. There is always a good side to every bad situation. Your mind needs to be trained to focus on the positive and to throw out the negative. With time it will become second nature and will be automatically done without thought.
When you do end up failing at a task or event turn it into a learning experience. Do not look at it as a failure. Instead it is a lesson learned. Keep your head up and move on. Remember the mistake and do not repeat it. It can only be a lesson if something was learned from it.
One of the most important, and probably the hardest, aspects of gaining a positive attitude is self talk. Your mind is a powerful thing and if allowed to be negative your entire life will be bleak and dark. Only allow positive thoughts into your head. If negative thoughts start to creep in, replace them with good thoughts.
Your attitude and mindset will directly reflect who you choose to be around. With that in mind it may be time to cut some negative friends loose and gather your positive, happy friends closer. If you don’t have any friends that fit into the good influence category then you need to go find some.
In order to achieve a positive attitude you have to begin the journey by actually wanting to change. Then you have to take the time and make the effort to improve yourself. This may mean you have to make some hard life choices and cut some ties in your life that are holding you back. It boils down to you deciding your priorities and what your future will hold for you.
