SNAIL MAIL GIVES A PERSONAL TOUCH

Snail mail versus email has been a hot topic of debate for years. The new generation of people would rather jump on a computer or phone and type out a few short, unthoughtful lines. The older generation would prefer something that they feel. Being able to touch a letter or photo enables the person to connect with the writer or photograph. Email cannot be placed in a book or frame and be cherished like a simple piece of snail mail from a relative can.

The personal thought, touch and time that goes into a handwritten letter is well worth the wait for many people. This type of message comes from the heart and soul, not from the mind which snaps out random things throughout the day. Pictures and documents are only original when send through the mail. A copy that is scanned or copied into an email is not the same. When it comes to legal documents, most of the time a copy will not work. No emojis, slang words, or abbreviations are needed because words written by hand are true and understandable

.

When it comes to children, and receiving a scribbled note from a young relative, nothing can compare or duplicate. A masterpiece created by crayon or marker has a unique texture and smell that cannot be copied by any machine. If a person cannot see a child grow in person watching them mature through letters and pictures is the next best thing.

The generation gap today is very apparent when it comes to how communication is given and received. Instead of pointing and clicking people want something to hold, smell, and use to connect with the person sending the letter or pictures. Everyone needs to make time to live in the real world. Get out of the invisible world of technology and take the time to truly write some words to a relative. Snail mail takes a little longer to receive, but it is well worth the wait.
